F.A.Q. What are Historical Ghost Tours at the 13th Door??? Ghost Tours are a behind the scenes walk-through tour of the 13th Door haunted attraction during its non-operating times. It is not only a ghost-walk, but also a historical one. The Pacific Paranormal Research Society, the 13th Door's official paranormal investigative team for the past 5 years, is facilitating & promoting these tours. How Long does it Take? 15-20 minutes per tour, with no more than 6 people per Tour. There will be Tours running every 15-20 minutes. Is it Scary? I wanna be Scared! Our history & ghost tours are intended for informative purposes only. There could be some paranormal activity, and that could be unsettling for some folks, but probably not scary. Our tours are for the general public to actually take a ghost-walk through a local haunted location before it is torn down. If you are looking to be scared, please visit the 13th Door Haunted House attraction during its normal operating hours. This tour will disappoint you if that is only what you are expecting. I will say that this location has had an adverse affect on some folks, including seasoned ghost hunters such as myself. Some actors and past patrons of our ghost tours have had to be removed due to a physical reaction. Many of our actors, after one night in "Frank's room", have never come back. Paranormal activity affects everyone differently- if you are on a tour and feel nauseous or extremely uncomfortable, your tour guide is trained to remove you from the tour and take you to the nearest exit. Can I Schedule a special Ghost Tour at the 13th Door? No. We will be open for tours at specific dates and times that will be posted. There will be no special tours given. The 13th door haunted house attraction starts at 7:00 pm at night and goes on until around Midnight. It should be obvious that we cannot do any tours in the evenings - especially on Halloween night. Please do not ask. Can You Guarantee that I'll See a Ghost?? Ghosts are not pets and do not do tricks on command. Obviously, we have no control over their activities, appearances or lack of. We had people last year telling us to "make them do something!" Well, there is no guarantee that paranormal activity of any kind will take place during your actual tour, HOWEVER, keep in mind that this is highly possible and it COULD happen. We can't guarantee 100% that you'll see or experience a ghost, no, but we will tell you that due to the theatre's activity level, you've got a very good chance. :) Just check out what happened last year: Our first tours last year in 2005 seemed to bring the ghosts out! When we were setting up in the lobby before we would let anyone come through, you could hear them talking amongst themselves, the woman singing, the little girl giggling, a man whistling, banging sounds, slamming doors and someone stomping about. At one point, it got freezing cold in the lobby, then Todd noticed that the back of his walkie-talkie had disappeared! For 2 hours it was missing - until it mysteriously appeared in Jake's back pocket !?!?!!??? On our final tour of the day, we were in theatre 2 when Frank decided to speak during my presentation! This wasn't the only time he yelled out during our tours, but it was certainly one of the loudest! We still don't know what he said, but we all heard him boom out 2-3 words! They could have been alot less terrifying during our bathroom breaks if they would have just quit manipulating props, making whispering noises, and following us into the restroom! We started going there in pairs after what happened when we would go here alone! One of them kept jumping up and down one of the hospital beds near the exit and while we were talking to people before they left, all you could hear was, "Squeek Squeek Squeek" on the bed! Some of guests on our tours got some surprises too- - tons of women on our tours got strands of their hair pulled, and heard loud stomping or walking behind them. Quite a few of the men were tapped on the shoulder or pushed, as if someone wanted to move them out of the way. And many, many of our guests reported odd smells, darting shadows, and voices or loud whispers coming from the other theatres. So What Kind of Ghostly Activity Could I Expect if the Ghosts DO come out? If
the ghosts are feeling frisky, there are few things you can expect. Cold Spots
are frequent throughout the theatre, disembodied voices & footsteps are common,
as are shadows, knocking, running, laughing, or just being followed by them. During
last year's Tours they did alot of hair pulling and shoulder tapping among
other things. They can be playful or downright menacing, depending on which ghost
it is, but they haven't done any real harm to anyone...well...except for their
throwing of heavy objects, but they haven't done that for...um...awhile. Your tour guides have been trained to listen closely and be very observant of any changes that occur in the theatre during our operating hours. What Should I Wear or Bring with me? Please wear comfortable walking shoes, and you can bring a camera with a flash. Because you are going through the 13th door haunted house in almost total darkness (there is some ambient lighting), there could still be some sharp turns & prop scares- you understand, you may need someone to hold on to, or a good pair of Depends. I Didn't see a Ghost. Can I Have a Refund? Nope- there are no Refunds. Can I bring my Videocamera? No, there will
be no Videotaping allowed due to Mall policy.
